About our conditions, the museum and practical information

  • 1. The course of an individual visit

    The visit is guided by signposts in French, German and English throughout the exhibition.

    Through a few illustrations, explanations and anecdotes, you will learn about the main key stages of beer production, life at the brewery and the history of Cardinal in relation to Fribourg.

    Our team is at your disposal for any questions you may have and may approach you during your visit to discuss a specific point of the exhibition for a few moments, with your agreement.

    2. Conditions, cancellation and refund of an individual visit

    Details of the offer

    Entrance fee: CHF 10 per person (CHF 8 for students, AHV and IV). Persons under 16 years of age may enter free of charge, but must be accompanied by an adult.

    Duration of the visit: about 45 minutes. Allow 1 hour for the whole tour.

    Reservation

    Simple and convenient, our bookings are made through our website.

    Reservation 48 hours in advance, except on weekends.

    We offer time slots to ensure a more qualitative visit.

    Cancellation

    You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance online. Or send an email to info@museum-cardinal.ch with your booking reference number. Here are our conditions:

    A 100% cancellation fee will be applied for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time.

    Cancellation 24 hours or more before the scheduled date: the amount of the visit will be reimbursed, minus the cost of the third party.

    Reimbursement

    Once the booking has been cancelled, our team will refund you as soon as possible, after deduction of any third party collection fees.

  • 1. How a guided tour works

    The visit takes place in 3 phases. The welcome, then the guided tour and finally, if ordered in advance, an aperitif or a small tasting in our historic bistro.

    Through a few explanations and anecdotes, you will be introduced to the main key stages of beer production, life at the brewery and the history of Cardinal in relation to Fribourg.

    10-20pers. per guide ideally (max 30pers. per guide)

    For security reasons, we can accommodate up to 100 people at a time in our premises.

    2. How to organise a visit to the museum?

    With a few clicks, you can book, modify or cancel a guided tour (according to our general conditions). E-mails will be sent to you with all the necessary information.

    Please let us know your particular needs along with your application, and we will be happy to accommodate them to the best of our ability.

    3. Conditions, cancellation and refund of a guided tour

    Details of the offer

    Entrance fee: CHF 10.00 per person (CHF 8.00 for students, AHV and IV). Price per guide: CHF 120.00 (or CHF 15.00 per person for 20 or more).

    Duration of the visit: about 45 minutes. Allow 1 hour for the whole tour.

    Reservation

    Reservations must be made at least 14 days in advance.

    We can also adapt to your requests, according to our possibilities, which you can specify in the comments when you make your reservation. We will then contact you.

    Cancellation

    You can cancel without further notice. Send an email to info@museum-cardinal.ch with the reference number of your reservation. These are our conditions:

    A 100% cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations made less than 72 hours before the date or in case of no-show.

    Cancellation 72 hours or more before the scheduled date: the amount of the visit will be reimbursed, minus the cost of third-party commissions.

    Reimbursement

    Once the booking has been cancelled, our team will refund you as soon as possible, after deduction of any third party collection fees.

    4. At what time of the week can we have a guided tour?

    Guided tours of the museum are possible between 10am and 8pm every day except Sunday (only between 10am and 6pm), but only on reservation and depending on the availability of our guides.

    5. In which languages are the guided tours offered?

    Mainly French, but German and English are also possible if our guides are available.

  • After your visit in free entry or in guided tour, why not enjoy a little more the place?

    Here is our offer:

    Light aperitif - one drink (current beer, Sinalco, coffee or water) + simple aperitifs (+6 CHF/pers.)

    Optional and on reservation for groups only:

    Local aperitif - one drink (current beer, Sinalco, coffee or water) + accompanied by a cheese and sausage platter (+12.-CHF/pers.).

    Small tasting - 3 beers for tasting (3 x 1dl) and a glass of your choice (1 x 3dl) accompanied by a cheese and charcuterie platter (+18.-CHF/pers.) and some explanations

  • 1. Is there access for people with reduced mobility? Is the exhibition accessible to all?

    Yes, once you are there, our staff will show you the way to the museum and the toilets.

    We have a lift to the rear of the building (on request a member of staff will take you there).

    The entire exhibition is accessible except for the part concerning the history of Cardinal, which we will be happy to tell you about to make up for this lack.
